When Marcus leads a fiery assault on Anderson's fortress, and his daughter loses consciousness once more from smoke inhalation and oxygen deprivation, something in Anderson snaps completely. He douses himself in antifreeze to withstand the heat and charges into the 70-degree inferno. Armed with a liquid nitrogen gun and a network of deadly booby traps he had prepared, he hunts down the rioters one by one. He defeats Marcus on the blistering hot rooftop helipad. Then he takes the last remaining bottle of ice water and pours it slowly onto the scorching concrete right in front of Marcus, where it evaporates instantly in a wisp of white steam. Before turning away, he says coldly: "I won't kill you. The sun will." He flies his unconscious daughter to a hidden underground ice cellar on the coast that he had located using his foreknowledge. As the helicopter lifts off, the skyscraper behind them erupts into a towering inferno, a giant burning torch against the blood-red sky.
