Story of the series

Sloane has loved her best friend, Finn, for ten years, but he's fixated on his toxic ex, Delilah, who is now engaged to Hunter. Finn convinces Sloane to crash Delilah's wedding for "closure." Upon arrival, Sloane meets Finn's enigmatic brother, Knox, who is surprisingly friends with Hunter and owns a sex club. Knox immediately senses Sloane's unrequited love for Finn and begins to provoke her. Sloane discovers Finn and Delilah are still secretly involved. Knox then proposes a bet: if the wedding proceeds, he'll leave Sloane alone; if it fails, he'll "violently pursue" her to make her forget Finn. Despite her loyalty to Finn, Sloane accepts. Later, at a strip club, Knox orchestrates a lap dance for Finn, then confronts Sloane in the restroom, where they have impulsive, intense sex. Finn discovers their tryst, leading to a fight with Knox. Finn, hurt, demands Sloane help him win Delilah back as proof of her loyalty, leaving Sloane in a complex emotional bind between the brothers and her own desires.
