STORY

Story of the series

Cecilia, Crown Princess of Etheria, rescues a disfigured “deserter” named Amos from a death pit and makes him her personal guard. Three years later, King Helios of Nord storms her capital—and reveals he is Amos. Having used her to steal every military secret, he destroys her kingdom, burns her ancestral tombs, and enslaves her. To buy time for her brother Edmund to strike Nord’s rear, Cecilia endures public humiliation, torture, and repeated abuse, until she takes a fake-death potion left by Edmund and escapes. Edmund captures Nord’s capital, trades Helios’s mother for Cecilia’s “corpse,” and secretly revives her. Years later, Edmund dies, naming Cecilia regent for his young son. Helios, learning she is alive, begs for reconciliation, then threatens to massacre civilians when refused. Cecilia declares war and leads the army herself. After three years, she stands before Nord’s capital, shoots Helios twice but spares his life, then orders the assault. That night, Helios dons his old disguise mask and burns himself alive in the palace. Cecilia annexes Nord, abolishes slavery, standardizes weights and measures, establishes a people’s council, and unites both kingdoms into a new realm—Eternal. She never marries, devoting her life to her people. Upon her death, she is honored as the “Mother of the Eternal Realm.” Her bronze statue still stands in the capital square, gazing into the distance, a silent witness to the peace she won with blood and sacrifice.
