Story of the series
Emily Carter is drugged by her stepmother and stepbrother and forced into an older man's bed. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when she encounters James Thornton, heir to the most powerful family in Kingston. A month later, Emily discovers she is pregnant. Fearing that James will reject the child, she keeps her pregnancy a secret. When her stepmother and stepbrother find out, they subject her to cruel humiliation. Just when things seem unbearable, James rescues her once more, takes her home, and marries her. The notorious playboy of Kingston's elite circles shocks everyone by settling down for an ordinary college student. He supports her education, stands by her through every step of her pregnancy, and gives her the loving home she never thought she'd have.
