Goodbye, Mr. President

On their wedding night, Caspian presents Lenore with 372 debt‑related papers containing merely one genuine cheque. Lenore finds nothing. Her father killed himself three days before. She sells wedding gifts for his urn, buries him in rain alone. Refusing Caspian’s demand to plead for mercy, she leaves with divorce papers, leaving a remorse‑stricken Caspian behind at the grave.
