STORY

Story of the series

Sienna, battling stage-4 kidney cancer, learns her husband Marcus, a nephrology chief, has given her allocated kidney to Zoey's mother, his junior resident's mom. When she confronts him, he tells her to be patient. Zoey later reveals that Sienna's mother died in a car accident and donated her kidney, but Marcus diverted it to Zoey's mother. Sienna collapses and nearly dies, but eventually receives another kidney and survives. Marcus is arrested, stripped of his license, and imprisoned for five years. Zoey faces no charges. Sienna divorces Marcus, saying he is nobody to her. After release, Marcus forces his way into Zoey's home.
