My mother-in-law wants to take my life

Shortly after my wedding, I found something disturbing under the bed. I took it in secret, and miraculously, the chronic illness that had plagued me for so long began to fade. But my mother-in-law burst into tears, and my husband flew into a rage. "My mom got that as a fertility charm for us! Why did you take it?" But I knew better.
