Story of the series
After her parents divorced, Ruby Moore followed her mother, Isabella Moore, to live with Liam Taylor. But Liam was a monster behind a mask—kind and gentle to Ruby in front of Isabella, yet cruel and abusive when her back was turned. Under Liam’s slander, Isabella became convinced that Ruby had stolen her bracelet and lashed out at her in anger. Heartbroken and humiliated, Ruby ran away to find her biological father, Noah Anderson. But Noah had already started a new family, and Ruby’s stepmother never wanted her around. With nowhere to go, Ruby was lost and alone. Desperate to pay off his gambling debts, Liam secretly sold her. When Ruby disappeared, Isabella was struck with regret and searched for her everywhere, but all efforts were in vain. Just as hope was fading, both Isabella and Noah received a call from the police. The police discovered a body, suspected to be Ruby.
