After a decade of overseas research and fieldwork in Takalizan, Harriett returns home. His son, Holden, concerned about his mother’s opinion on his marriage, asks his girlfriend Venus to bring a globally unique, precious medicinal reagent to the airport to greet her. In a hurry, Venus takes a shortcut and nearly hits a child with her car. Harriett, passing by, intervenes to stop the vehicle, causing the reagent to shatter.
