STORY

Story of the series

Sixteen-year-old Joy’s mother uses a Family Contribution Scoring Machine to grade family love by points. Sister Chloe gains points for trivial things, while Joy is penalized for telling the truth. Joy sacrifices her interview, savings and room for Chloe’s livestream, yet keeps losing points. When their mother suffers a heart attack, Joy saves her, but the machine falsely labels her a murderer. Trapped and having an asthma attack, Joy finds the machine is just a toy — Chloe rigged all scores. The family is already torn apart beyond repair.
