Story of the series
Pureblood sorceress Grace forces her mute half-sister Liya to marry the Dragon God Naz in her place. After forming a blood bond with Naz, Liya is hunted by Grace's assassins. She falls from a cliff, finds refuge in a monastery, and secretly gives birth to dragon twins. She hides for seven years. Grace discovers Liya alive, abducts her family, and tortures her. Naz senses the shattered blood bond, transforms into a black dragon, and saves them. In Dragonflame City, Grace accuses Liya of polluting the royal bloodline. But the Dragon Blood Stone proves the twins carry true royal blood. Grace is sentenced to death. The seven tribes demand Liya undergo trials in the Valley of Dragon's Rest. Accompanied by Naz and her children, Liya braves poison swamps, molten lava, illusions, and Soul Fire. Her unbreakable heart earns the ancient Dragon Gods' approval. A golden mark appears on her forehead—she ascends as the one true Dragon Queen.
